It's reasonable to feel scared. But sometimes you just have to overcome those fears. Being a skinny little kid growing up I was always picked on and I let bullies get away with it because I was afraid of getting beat up. Finally I started thinking about what I was afraid of and what the worst that could happen to me was. I got into a few fights. Never won any but never backed down. I discovered that the cuts and bruises hurt less than the humiliation and fear.

Decades later and I'm still facing my fears. I've taken up climbing and have had to deal with my fear of heights. I sometimes use the autobelay system which never feels like it has you so it takes a lot of faith to let go of the wall and let it lower you down. I managed by doing some of the smaller heights first and building up. It's still freaky but I can manage.

Are there easier tumbles you can pratice first? Maybe you can find a body of water to do it into so you know you won't get hurt even if you panic and goof. Once you find a trick that helps, go at it over and over again until you don't have to think about it and don't have time to get scared.
