I got engaged last January of 2006, and needless to say, it didn't work out. What is the best way to get rid of the ring and wedding band and get a decent amount for it?

Find a reputable jeweller that buys estate jewellry or this kind of thing - it happens a lot, there is a growing market for purchasing matrimonial jewellry.

Whatever you do, do NOT take it to a pawn shop!! You will never get even CLOSE to a decent fraction of what it is worth! I suggest either ebay or putting an ad in your local paper.

EBay or free ads. Don't pawn it as you will only get scrap value for it.

ebay-if you have the papers to prove it is real (I dont doubt you) but that could help you get more for it. Or craigslist.com

take it to different jewelry stores and ask what they would give you for it,dont settle on the first one ,because i promise you each one will give a different price!so do your research with them well, then sell to the highest one!
