Try spot shot. It is a carpet cleaner. I have used it many times on clothing and it has worked wonderful!
Spray the garmet and let it sit for about a minute. Then, respray the spot and work it into the stain in the direction of the fabric. Wash and rinse in warm water immediately.
It works great - hope this helps!

Consumers reports book on stains says:
For butter you can use,Dry cleaning solvent(Buy at supermarket) or Ammonia (Mix 1 tablespoon of Ammonia to 1/2 cup of water) and the next thing they say is Vinegar
(1/3rd cup to 2/3rd cups of water. The last is wash in detergent) Hope it works for you.

This should help: Method 1: Use powder or chalk absorbents to remove as much grease as possible. Pre-treat with detergent or nonÂflammable dry cleaning solvent, or liquid shampoo. Wash in hottest water safe for fabric, using plenty of detergent.
Method 2: Rub spot with lard and sponge with a non-flammable dry cleaning solvent. Wash in hottest water and detergent safe for fabric Good Luck !

Treat the spot w/ either Dawn dishwashing liquid or full-strength OrangeClean (the thick stuff). Let sit, then wash in the hottest water the top will allow.
