That is a nice quote from the Cigarette Smoking Man. I think it is definitely profound and true from a pessimistic angle. In my opinion however, Mulder usually has the best quotes in the show. Personally, I think a good mindset is "Trust No One". It's short and practical.

I've never found a thing wrong with chocolate as a life-lifting product. But then I don't eat crap chocolate, I give those nasty cheap boxes I get away to people who don't know and appreciate good chocolate, and save the good stuff for myself and those who do. Why waste a good box of chocolates?

this is a retarded quote because you can say anything is like life. For instance, a popsicle is like life, it starts out sweet but in time it seems thinner and soon things melt away and the core of matters is revealed but there is no longer any flavor in life in this late age. See what I mean? I just happen to be eating a popsicle right now. I guess I could also say life is like a laptop. What life is really like is life and everything. Boxes of chocolate are part of life, so your quote is saying something like a box of chocolates is like a chocolate. Anyway If you want to have a bitter outlook on life dont make up dumb analogies just use it as an excuse to act in a shameless way in public its more fun.
