The division in my present company has been sold to another company. Our team was told in a meeting that our jobs would be secure and that our operations would continue as is with some changes in the future. I would still be working with the same people under the same immediate supervisors. We were led to believe this was a good thing. I don't feel so secure. I have no experience being in a part of a company that was sold to another one. My fear is that the culture will change considerably and that at some point, we'll all be expendable. The change is not yet effective and I can choose to accept or decline the new job offer, but the transaction was revealed a few days ago and with less than two weeks before the effective date. I think that sucks. Are my fears well-founded? Should I bail?

It takes courage to follow your dreams. No one likes change, but some times change can be positive. You should also take into effect your own fears. Sometimes they are substantiated. What is the history of the new company. Do they have a past of getting rid of employees. Just do a little research and stay quiet.

You can find out more when you listen than when you talk. You should definitely have a back up plan and start preparing yourself in case your feelings are correct. This sight may help you to prepare yourself.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Unless you have a new job lined up, stay where you are. Sometimes these things go well and sometimes they don't, there is no way to tell at this point. We just bought a company and they employees are estatic, they are being treated better than they ever have. You need to give this a chance. Will things be exactly like they were...well no. But that does not mean they will be bad.

Yes, the culture will change. Try to get along with the new management and the new way of doing things - maybe you will like it. But it wouldn't hurt to keep your resume ready just in case.

I'd say, wait and see, but this might not be a good time to incur a large debt, such as a new car.

Your jobs will be secure, etc etc. Very possibly, and I hope so. I'd give it a chance, but cover you a##,
