xy= -3

y= -3/x

this is quite simple...i think u should give more importance to ur basics..

cross mutiply y over. so xy=-3 then divide by x so y=-3/x

this is really simple so don't worry.

you need to get Y by itself, so the first thing you need to do is take Y out of the denomenator. you do this by multiplying both sides of the equation by Y. now you have:
YX = -3

now, in order to get Y by itself on the left side of the equation, you need to divide by X on both sides. now you have:
Y= -3/X

END.

Multiply both sides by y to clear the fraction. So you would end up with xy = -3
