Book was about a young girl named Lucy who lived with her grandmom who died. She is used to the quiet lifestyle of her grandmom and likes antiques, etc., but has to move in with a distant cousin and her family in London who are loud and modern. She hangs out in the attic with boxes of old things from previous owners and becomes friendly with a ghost named Alice who lived in the house at the turn of the century. Lucy can access Alice's world by stepping through a mirror and she contemplates just staying in Alice's time since it is more her style - but then she finds that Alice is a bit evil. I have been trying to remember the name of this book for over 20 years and would LOVE it if someone could help me. Thanks.

It's called "Come Back Lucy" and is also known by another title "Mirror of Danger" by Pamela Sykes
Check out the comments on Amazon about the book and see if this is it. It all matches except it was Aunt Olive and not a granmom.

This is definitely "Come Back, Lucy" by Pamela Sykes. There is a sequel called, "Lucy Beware".

I know how you can find it for sure. Go to a library that has School Library Journal on microfilm. Read the reviews for a few years. You should be able to find it there.
