I'm not a republican.
I just think is coldhearted to do such a thing.

A lot of republicans feel that John Edwards wife is faking her cancer for political gain.

She made this decision and she made it with her husband and her children. I can understand her devotion to seeing her husband rise to the level she believes he should be at. I can also understand, having an aunt who is very ill with leukemia, her plea not to let her illness change their goals. My aunt is very much like this herself, and will not allow her children to alter their lives to watch her die. Some people actually do believe, when they see their mortality right in front of them, that the best thing they can do for themselves and their family is to see the current road to the end and not let the illness run or ruin their lives. I think they are all very brave and it moved me to tears to see the wonderful family cohesion they represent. It seems so rare these days, though I hope it is not. I am not an Edwards for President supporter, my support lies elsewhere. But my hat is off to that family, they represent a steadfastness we need to see more of in this country.

I think it's MUCH sicker for Republicans to try to make him look bad over it...

as it appears that some on here are... (ahem)...

it's a family decision... and if that's what they want to do... that's what they want to do...

is there anything Republicans won't criticize?

this makes Bush bashes look kind... I don't think EVEN they would try to take a swing at this topic... if the shoe was on the other foot...

No, no matter what Edwards chose to do, scum like Limbaugh and Savage would still find a way to ridicule the man's decision. Screw them and all the right wing haters.

I personally think its pretty selfish but I have read nowhere about it being stage 4 cancer.

From Yahoo news... "Both Edwardses said the cancer was treatable and that they would stick with their plans to campaign vigorously for the nomination."

Either this is a publicity ploy for sympathy or she truly wants him to continue the race. If she was really dying then I couldn't even contemplate him continuing the race.
