Modest Mouse is really good. Oh, and a new band Madina Lake, has a CD coming out in a few days. They are really great.
Might try Incubus, Ram Jam or Bullet for my Vallentine if you like rock stuff.
Thom Yorke or Of Montreal if you want some Indie flair.
Hellogoodbye is pretty tight too.

Try some broadway stuff like...RENT!! It's so amazing if you haven't discovered it yet...and if you have - wicked!
Um...personally I love the Killers right now, and the latest Billy Talent and Evanesence albums are awesome!
Check out John Mayer, Norah Jones, 30 Seconds to Mars, Panic! At the Disco...hmm and some oldies like Placebo *every me and every you...awesome song!*, Radiohead, Fuel
And check out Daughtry for sure - he's accomplished soo much since idol and kicks some serious butt!!
