Are they illegal? I read about hacks for games, email, etc... Could you get into trouble for using them?

cracks are illegal anything that requires you to pay & you use something to get it free is illegal..
you guys are talking about cracks, not a hacks, i know a few people who says hacks when they meant crack but, a hack is where code is manipulated, like php, asp, html, but its mostly a mod, but i can see why a person could see it as a crack but still

If you mean cracks then you probably mean piracy, that is certainly landing you jail time.
But hacks are just suppose to be harmless utilities like guns and chainsaws, you can wreck someone's day or even kill a guy if not used correctly, usually considered immoral to an online/group game.

not illegal just immoral they allow you to get software without paying for it which is stealing
