And we've all done this and most have learned from this mistake. Sounds like you have as well. So the next time she tells someone about this, you just "man did I ever blow it on that one, taught me to check things out first". Owning up to a mistake makes you a much bigger person in most people's minds.

Personally, I'd be bothered by the fact that she keeps telling everyone. SHE didnt know the answer! and its not like you gave her the wrong answer on purpose. Sounds like she's enjoying that fact that you were wrong. But then again, that's just me. I'd ask her why she keeps bringing it up? What was the question and your answer? Just curious.

I don't know how serious the mistake was, so the answer will vary. If it's something trivial, you can make statements such as "I can't believe you're still bringing THAT up" or "Yeah, that was such a dumb answer, good thing it didn't matter." If it was something big, talk to her and say "Seriously, I'm very sorry, I don't know what else to say. Why are you still dwelling on it?"

if it was like an answer to something simple such as, who lead the battle in the alamo, then its no biggie, "sh!t happens" but if not and it's serious, explain that "sh!t happens" in a nice- gentle way.
such as, "my bad, i'm terribly sorry for telling you that, i thought i was right but i was wrong, i'm only human. ^.^ do you think that you can forgive me and lets move on?" or something around that, i've stuff like this but i don't regret it because i apologize (and mean it) and attemp to mend things.
(a friend ended up asking this girl that she told me that she liked him but not enough to go out with him... his boyish pride is busted thanx to me, but we mended up things.)

I think that you need to confront her..and say..that what happened has really bothered you..and it DOES bother you..when she talks about you..and you have to find out that she is telling everybody that you gave her the wrong answer!
I would agree with you...this has happened to me as well...I don't blame you in the slightest!
Good luck!

i do now not experience sorry approximately answering questions- and that i think of of if human beings had the brains, that they had grant the guy the income of the doubt. i prefer to propose human beings make errors, and that i assume each and each individual has, or will indoors the on the brink of destiny, accidently misread some thing and experience dumb, yet atleast they comprehend they do now not look an fool, they simply made an elementary mistake. extensive deal
