I have to go on field trip tomorrow and will be in Chicago. I'm thinking of wearing my favorite jeans (they fit really well), a simple black thermal, and heeled wingtips (it'd be wiser to wear flats, but I walk SO slow in flats!). But the big problem is my purse--I don't want to carry a purse AND a backpack to carry my lunch in, so I'm thinking of carrying a nice sized handbag with lime, emerald, light blue, dark blue, tan, and white stripes (it's a Kate Spade knock-off). It has a unique shape--it's wider on all sides at the bottom and narrows to two inches wide and eight inches long. Not counting its stiff straps, it's about 10 inches tall. Would that work? Should I add lime (it's the most noticeable color on the bag) to the rest of my outfit?

No downtown for me. Strictly the Body Worlds II exhibit. (Ew.) So I'm willing to take the chance with heels.

maybe a lime headband, scarf, or earrings? if you have anything similar. otherwise the outfit sounds cute, you might not even need the extra color!

I wouldn't add lime. I don't see where you need more color with that bright handbag. You don't want too much of a good thing. I'm not sure what the shoes look like...are they the type you wear with socks? If you do wear socks with them and they won't show until you sit then lime socks would probably be good. The only other way I'd add lime to this would be subtle jewelry, possibly. Lime just really hollers out and can be overdone. Keep the black top. And have fun!

I know everyone is going on and on about "no heels" if you can stand to walk around all day in them and they are super comfy, then hey go for it, work it girl! (How high are they anyways?) Ok back on subject, with the purse it doesn't sound like you need to add a color from the purse. Lime green is a hard color to pull off also in large amounts. It depends on your coloring really, but if you really want to tie the bag to your clothing maybe a great lime colored scarf. Plus scarf...Chicago..it makes sense and is cute! I think if you are going to pull a color from the bag, pull one of the less prominent colors and a slightly more complimentary color like the light blue or the ermerald. Hope this helps!

That would look cute!
I'm not sure about the weather, but if you bring a jacket bring a simple, solid colored one.
I usually just carry an oversized purse on trips with my lunch and whatever else I need in it.
That ag sounds really cute! =)

Have fun tomorrow!

Sounds spectacular and it's always good to pick one color and let that really "pop" out at you. But I might rethink the shoes
