To be honest, as a married man, it's up there with love and health. I think it must be in our genes... man, the hunter, providing food and a good cave for his family. But of course, it's only one part of the equation. It shouldn't be the MOST important.

Hi, I would say that money is very important but it is not on top of everything else....
Quality of life nowadays is basically measured by how much money we have. Other people can argue about how being happy/satisfied or just having a loving family is more than enough. I beg to differ because money basically solve lots of problems. Money is not everything but it is involved most things.
You should talk to your husband and finds out why he is obsessed with earning lots of money? Maybe he wanted to give you and his family a better life with more money. It is good to have an ambitious husband in my opinion rather than one that is easily satisfied. If you think you are neglected, you should communicate more with him and tell you how you feel.... good luck..

Money is very important, at leaset you need to have enough money. But different people may have different view on "enough money". You don't need a house with 500 square feet, as you just need a room for your king size bed. You don't need a table full of foods, as you can't finish all. You don't need a super luxury car, as a normal used car can bring you to anywhere you want as well. You don't need ten maids, as doing house chaos together with love one can be fun as well.
I will work hard for enough money, as this is survival. But if you want the best of everythings in life, then money is never enough.

Unfortunately we live in a society that if you do not have money, you are considered unsuccessful. This is also a deeply embedded form of compensation to impress women. Kinda like a guy buying a big truck and putting big tires on it. I am also sorry to say that women are the ones who started this trend. Historically, girls have been brought up by their parents to find a man who can support a family. Also, this is a form of Darwinism. It's easier to survive when you have money; point blank!

He probably wants a better life. Maybe he sees that the family is struggling and is looking for a short term solution. Help him to see that whatever he is doing is not right (refer to gambling). He might be getting into an obsession with gambling. Shower him with love and concern, not anger. Counsel, not reprimand. As harsh words will only drive him further into the obsession.
