IPod 30gb purchase: black or white?

Question

Had a white 20GB, lost/stolen/whatev.

I'm BUYING a new 30GB color, but what color should I get?
I don't care about scratches/dirt too much, I'm a clean person.

Black = something a little different from my original white one, kinda sleek, kinda sexy, kinda metropolitan. Nicer contrast when it comes to viewing the screen. Because it's not traditional white, people are less likely to steal it?
Downsides = easy-to-see scratches with the white underneath? More masculine? And you don't know its an iPod right away.

White = quintessential iPod color; matches with the earbuds, my Griffin radio transmitter, scratches less visible
Downs = everyone has white. Recognizable to be stolen.

I'm just a chick who wants to get pumped up at the gym, then take the iPod along for car trips. I don't want to seem masculine with a black one, the white one is so common, and I feel like I would snap the Nanos in half.

So WHICH ONE? So exciting!
I kinda want to just hold one of each color for a while.

I don't want to purchase a Zune because I'm in love with the click wheel. I also like the easy interface with iTunes that iPod has; drag and drop.

I've brought my old iPod to the gym before. I will do it again. The equipment I use has ledges, so I'm not putting it in all manner of fancy traveling slings on my arm and waist and whatever. When I use equipment without ledges, I just don't listen to my iPod, and I carry it with me.

I really want to love my iPod and not leave it lying around or whatever like I did with my last one, so my last point of confusion is just what color to get. You don't have to tell me how silly it all is that I'm stressing over a simple 1vs1 color, trust me, I know! Haha.

So just put in a vote or information from your personal experience, and I plan on taking it into account.

Well i would recommend white because i got a black ipod and it got fingerprints too easily, and i would so recommend it so badly so PlZ PlZ PlZ PlZ PlZ listen to me...............
when you get an ipod don't take off the plastic surrounding the outside until you get a permeate case because it shows scratches so badly. hope you take my advise

Black just looks better than the traditional white. Just because it's black doesn't mean that less people are likely to steal it. People will steal an iPod any chance that they get. I've seen women jogging with a black iPod, so I don't think black means the iPod is masculine.

Well it looks like you have this one pretty deep into complcation. When it all comes down to the decison, I would say the black one. The reason why is because its unique,sleek, and stylsh. I have the same problem because im getting one in 3 days and I choose the Black. Its bullcrap what people say. The black isnt masculine, its for both, and as far as scratches they both scratch the same. So when you consider every single detail...black is the choice....

The BLACK ONE.. The black one looks so much better, and it's actually more exciting. It looks powerful, dominant, forceful, yet enoyable. And a little mix between the black and the white (that is with the earphones and the tuner) is actually sexier than having everything black or everything white...

iPods are horrible for gyms. They scratch easily. My opinion:

Get a Zune. More scratch resistant, same price, bigger screen, you can customize the background with any picture, comes in Black, white, or brown. Better for PCs, and iPoods stink....
