Today I hit my head, well what happened was I slipped on a shoe and was knocked out when I hit the floor, but I had this weird flashback of my whole entire life... from the day I was born until now in fast motion, It's so deep I never felt this...It was amazing, seriously.

I woke up, about 20 minutes later, and I'm like a whole new person appreciating life again.

Anyways have you guys experienced any flashbacks in your life? And I was wondering also, is it the same as a dream?

It sounds like you had a really cool experience. It's always good to appreciate life. The more you appreciate life the better life you will lead.

Anyways, dreams and flashbacks are two different things. The most current theory behind dreams is that when you are in R.E.M sleep (rapid eye movement) random electrical signals bombard your brain. Your brain has ever the imagination and attempts to make sense of these electrical signals. Your brain instantaneously applies a story line to these signals and thus dreams are born.

Actually flashing back to the day you were born seems unlikely seeing as there is no hard evidence that the brain can actually remember back that far. But perhaps you really did flashback, or perhaps you were knocked unconscious and did experience a dream about your life.

Whatever it is now you're left with a good story to tell, so that's always a plus.

-Best wishes on your head and to your life

No it's not quite the same. A flashback is so vivid you seem to be there and need to react. Dreams are more vague and not exact memories, but rather a mixture of stimuli.

That is fascinating what happened to you and I know you will always remember it. But don't let anyone tell you what it meant. You are the source and you know the answer. It belongs to you now. Good luck! @8-)

I think that may be one of our unconscious mind. Sometimes this unconscious mind also a factor for the dream.
I also usually have a dream about my self make a wrong foot step when I stepping down of a stair and it wake me up immediately. I can feel my feet moving as in the dream.
