My sister is 14 & she will be 15 in 2 months. She has been dying to wear 4 inch heels for a while now. Do you think she is too young for heels? My mom & dad are divorced & my sister lives with her dad & she comes to me for advice on her clothing. What should I tell her girls?

For her birthday, buy her a pair of cute espadrilles. They're heels, but not technically. I was a few months away from 15 when I started wearing espadrilles--they were insanely comfortable! Since they're basically one big block of support, she can find out if her foot can be comfortable in a 4 inch heel shoe.
If she can't get comfortable in them, hit a shoe store to try on shoes with seperate heels. If they still don't feel comfy--kitten heels are great and flattering.

Heels should be find for a 15 year old, but I am not to sure about a 4 inch heel. Most people might get the wrong impression about a 4 inch heel. Maybe something slightly higher then a kitten heel, maybe a 2.5 to a 3 inch heel. Also has she ever worn heels before? If not, before you go down and get her a heel that high, let her try out a lower pair, she might find 4 inches a tad hard to walk in, I know I do and I have been wearing heels for a while now. But all in all I think a 15 year old can wear heels, just maybe not 4 inch high ones! Happy early b-day to your sister!

i wore my first pair of 3 inch heels when I was 12 to a formal event, and i was fine. at almost 15 she should be able to wear heels, as long as she knows how to walk in them properly and knows how to dress so she doesnt give the wrong message. i dont know if 4 inches is the best if she has never worn heels before....try taking her to a department store or a shoe store and try on a bunch of heels together. that way, you can guide her to make a good decision about what she wears (but dont impose on her too much or she will get annoyed) but still have fun. often, heels can be cute even if they arent sky-high. good luck!

The answer depends totally upon growth. By 15 most girls feet have stopped growing and are strong enough in the arch to support heels. But why???? Talk her out of it if she's only trying to be cool. Sometimes it just looks like it's someone trying to play dress up. She has tons of time to decide who she wants to be. She's 15 and obviously not getting what she needs from her mom and she's turning to you. Try to give her some good advice cause you might be the only one to provide it

yikes. 4 inches? i honestly don't think that 4 inch heels suit anyone (in most situations). for a 14 year old, i recommend kitten heels. they're adorable, and if you get the right pair, can still be totally sexy. i have a pair that i wear to speech tournaments and i have gotten so many compliments on them, including ones from straight male coaches. i guess my point is that you don't need super high heels to get attention and to look cute.

Yea, but not for every day, which would be totally impractical. If she's going to a party or something formal that requires a dress then I'd say its perfectly fine.

Heels are o.k., but make sure they are still age-appropriate and modest- help her to choose heels that don't look like a prostitute's (many 4in. heels do)
