i have found that homosexuals are really just more secure in relationships anyways. i have seen very few couples that have the ups and downs that heterosexuals usually have. also being that they are physically and mostly emotionally the same, gays tend to understand each other better. as for communication, if you can spread it out and talk even just a little everyday and not a lot at once so as you don't get sick of each other. be careful not to be too scarce though.

Da ben dan and Redcatt have said it. I would add a sense of humor and If, as Gwen and I were, you are tormented by a religious family, KNOW THINE ENEMY. Gwen saved my mind by her ability to knock the bigots off their perches.

loving my partner and accepting he is a man like me and knowing that even though he has sexual relationships with other men i still love him and he loves me. if you try to make a gay "marriage" to survive you cannot limit it to the old, conventional, and religious terms of the straight "marriage" after all we are not straight and their "rules" may not apply to us

Above all--honesty. Above all--love. With these two you can solve most other problems.
