Yes there is a way to get out of a contract, usually it involves having to read the contract, and finding out the reasons to get out. There are also web sites that help you with this issue. One of the easiest ways is if they raise the price of the text, IM's, or any other service. Another is if you just can not get service any longer, then they can not charge you for an ETF. Like I said read the contract, and check to see what reasons you can get out of it are, then use them. Almost all the cell companies have recently raised their texts from .10 to .15, this is reason to get out of the contract, although they will try to keep you with them, do not fall for it, you can get out of it because of this. Cingular has a roaming clause were if you roam to often they cancel your contract with out any fees, and give you about 2 months to port you number. Search on line as to how other people have gotten out of their contracts.

The contract states that if you cancel it early, you will be charged an early termination fee. You signed the contract to get your phone. You are legally obligated to pay the early termination fee.
