I really enjoyed the first film but when I watched the second I was very disappointed. I expected so much more from it. I know there is going to be a third but I hated the end of the second. What do you think?

No. They were trying way too hard. Too hard to be funny, too hard to be cool, just too hard.
What I liked the most about the first movie was the relationship between Jack and Will, and the chemistry between Johnny and Orlando. Then the second one comes around, and that's all gone. It seemed to me that it wasn't just Jack and Will who were sick of each other, but Johnny and Orlando as well.
Oh, and the guy who played Will's father looked nothing like him. They made such a big deal in the first one about how Will was the spitting image of Bootstrap, and then they cast that guy as his father. That always bugs me.

I hated it!! There were some interesting moments, but I thought some were done more for comedic relief I guess than really adding to the plot - oops, sorry , I mean CREATING a plot! There was NO story!
Okay, Jack being taken captive, and having all the eyes drawn on his face - funny as hell! Ok, fine, and maybe the scene with Will, Jack and Norrington fighting on the huge wheel was entertaining, but once again added nothing to the plot, mainly because it was so weak to begin with. I dunno, but in my opinion i think it was hard to find many scenes that were funny/compelling because the film lacked substance.

I loved it! The story wasn't anywhere near as good but the effects were stellar. Who honestly does not love the giant hamster wheel thingy esp on the big screen?
The only thing that disappointed me was that during the second movie, Johnny Depp had extra eyeballs painted on his face. He didn't look nearly as hot...he was already pushing his sex appeal being a hottie dressed as a dirty smelly pirate with bad teeth! You just can't add a bunch of extra eyeballs to that look and still be sexy, even if you are Johnny Depp???

It was an okay movie, but I was disappointed too. I had high expectations after seeing the first one a million times.

i htought the movie was good, except for the ending. and it was a bit long. they could have left out the whole part of them all on the cannibal island and made the movie half an hour shorter.
the end was horrible, but it was a page straight out of the "lord of the rings" playbook, to get people to have to come back and see the last one. it really didnt have an ending, just a "to be continued..."

I Absolutely LOVED the first one and totally couldn't wait for the second one to come out in theaters, I even counted down the days for it to open up in theaters (from like 100 and something!) when it came out, I think I was just telling myself that no matter what happened, I was going to love it..... I did like it a lot when it came out - but it was kinda dark and stuff - unlike the first one. I absolutely HATED Elizabeth Swann in the second one, which I didn't want to hate her because I LOVE Will Turner and I can't believe she made out with Jack like that right in front of Will! I can't believe she chained Jack to his precious Pearl and then left him there to die!! She is awful!
The ending of the second.......... with Captain Barbossa coming back.......... I think the third one is going to be A LOT better than the second one!! Captain Jack Sparrow is COMING BACK!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!! I just hope Elizabeth does something MAJOR to redeem herself and if she ends up with Will, I won't be mad ;0P
It's like they are real.......... The pirates of the caribbean...... no one can get enough just talking about them!!!
But, yeah - I agree with you - the first one was way better, and I can only hope that the 3rd one will be as Jack Sparrow once said ....."much more better"!!

I liked it, just b/c johnny depp was in it as a hott pirate... that's good enough for me... and I think it was supposed to be one of those movies that just set up for the third one, ya know? Like the 2nd and 3rd movies are just too long to be just one movie, so they basically chopped it in half.. whatever, sexy Johnny as a pirate, I'm excited for the 3rd one.

Not as well as the first..it was sorta like a set up to make you wait for the next one.
But Extra Depp was fine to watch.

i liked the first one so much better. the second one i went to watch with my friends cus one of them is a huge johnny depp fan and i nearly fell asleep watching it.
