Bag buddies. Double or Triple wrapped in 3-4 mil bags. Styrofoam insert for box.

Use heat packs or cool packs depending on the time of the year. Make certain the USPS will guaranty AM delivery, even if you you drop box off in PM. Sometimes it is better to use UPS or FedEX and pay for early AM service. The longer in the box, the more likely they will die.

Look up Kordon breather bags. These are really cool as you don't have any air space in them so the fish don't "slosh" around. The air passes through the bag itself and you pack the fish in with newspaper to keep them in place. You can cut stryofoam to fit the inside of a box to make a "cooler". This will help keep the temperature of the water decent. If it is going to be cool, you'll need to put heat packs in. Packed this way you can use Priority mail (throught he post office) and they will arrive alive (and is cheaper for you than overnight).

Hmm. Make sure they live. If they arrive dead - your intended sender may view the package as a "sicilian message" (i.e. the Godfather).
