its weird that my cd-rom and dvd-rom doesn't work anymore at the same time, my compute still can detect my dvdrom and cdrom, but when i insert disc, they don't read it, really weird, can it caused by virus? or it just a coincedence that the cd-rom and dvd-rom is damage at the sime? thanks

Goto start/my computer/left click down to properties/hardware/device manager/then goto cd rom -dvd rom and uninstall.Restart and should refresh system and bring up drivers.If problem still there Wal-mart has a $29.00 CDRW/DVD player .Good Luck!!!

something has most likely altered it. if they are both ejecting and allowing you to insert a disc, as well as still being detected by your computer, the chances are very slim that they are both duffed at the same time.
go through the usual process of checking and removing all viruses and spyware. it may well be, you never know!
if it is just a case of they don't automatically play, then the shell hardware detection service will most likely have been disabled, however this is ONLY the autoplay function.
you can try a system restore in case it isn't a virus and it is by chance an application which has changed this, although i have little faith in system restore.
check the device manager and check to see whether there are any error messages in the properties for each drive.
if you really can't fathom what it is, open up ur pc if u can, disconnect the drives via the ide cable, start up your machine witht hem disconnected, then shut down again when windows loads and then reconnect the drives and boot up again. if that dosn't work, consider reformatting.

same thing happened to me earlier this year. HP told me that it was from a virus and i had to replace them both...
