They say we are 90% water, but old people look like they don't have a drop of moisture in them. Dry as dust.

Actually we are 98% water (maybe a little more.) But the older you get the drier your skin is. As you age you lose those youthful oils that soften and moisturize your skin. The same oils that give you pimples (how many geezers have you seen with zits?)

I have read that skin is only designed to last a max. of 150 years. That should really explain your question about the drying up look.

All of the people (young or older) that have the 'dry look' is a result of smoking for many years. Their skin is dry and loose. Think about it, smoking reduces ciculation so the skin will appear dry due to lack of adequate circulation.

because they are literally dry. years of not drinking enough water which is the easy fix.

because when they look at most of the younger generation thats what causes them to dry up from shock at looking at ugly people

I think it has something to do with their skin cells dying, which i also think that's where that old person smell comes from
