For a font to be useable in MS Word, you have to install the file to Windows. Once you've done this, the font will be available in MS Word though you may have to restart Word or reboot Windows for it to take effect. The font has to be TrueType font or other Windows-compatible font.

Fonts are system wide. Word merely looks in this area and grabs whats available. You can paste them into c:\windows\fonts or go to control panel and click on fonts. (Be sure to be in classic view if you don't see it there)

Word 2002 is part of Office XP

Fonts that you use in office are located in the OS itself

Go to control panel..
Click on Fonts.
It opens folder "C:\WINDOWS\Fonts".
Copy and Paste your .TTF file in this folder.

You should be all set
