There is no "Best Type" of YGO deck...it all depends on the Duelists' likes and dislikes and way that they want to win...whether it be deck out, life point destruction, stall or beatdown. There are so many ways that it is all really up to the Duelist. My own personal favorite right now is a Cyber Dragon or The Six Samurai deck. So many different ways to make those decks it isn't even funny but my own style made them into basically a straight up beatdown. Hope this helps and keep on dueling!

It depends also on wether you want to play advanced or traditional format I like to play traditional that way I can just duel my friends who also have traditional and advanced decks. Also there is a tournament where I live (not an official advanced rules tournament) where we are allowed to play with banned cards. There is also the advanced deck tourament which I have only won twice.

My favorite traditional deck: Chaos deck: easily beat down your opponent.
A strategy with this deck:
Have a witch of the black forest/sangan on the field use Chaos emperor dragon evoy of the end's ability and block up the witch top deck yata and attack with yata and you win with a yata lock.

this deck is a proven winner, it won houston's regionals, i play a variant of this; instead of the exiled, spys, and merchants, or snipe hunters ( not that idont like, i prefer to utilize three brain controls, and wait to steal my oppenents creatures) i play 1gigantes, 1drillroid, 1king tiger, 1wangchu, and 1 chiron the mage instead, to combat the rampant grand moles and gadgets where i duel!!

there reallt sn't a best type of deck. it all depends on your skill level and the skill level of your opponent. I personally love my monarch deck. It has won 3 regional tournaments.
