This happens a lot to me too usually when the system runs a bit slow - or the OS seems to be really straining I can't think of a better way to describe it - so it just shuts down. Maybe there are too many processes happening at the same time like spyware or pop-up blocker or waiting for windows (links) to open. Technically, if you are running a dual core processor then it shouldn't happen, but I think mobile processors are a bit more delicate than desktops and are a bit more prone to freeze-ups
Maybe if you shut down programmes which you don't need which are running in the background if you have windows defender you can find them - a lot of programmes which you download are added to your "Start" menu so try disabling them - it might make a difference and it won't do any harm, If you are working off-line you don't need all the spyware stuff running it just uses up ram and overloads your processor - I hope I've been helpful

What is happening or what are you doing at the time it does this? Are you surfing the web? What programs are you running? I recently had the same problem every time a site that used Adobe Flash Player loaded. Figure out what you are doing at this time it happens and then you go from there.

I get that a lot too & so do lots of other people I've mentioned it to. It is so damned annoying isn't it? I don't know the technical reason why this happens but I have my own (conspiracy) theory - Windows XP is being phased out to make way for Vista... enough said.

This problem is very simple to avoid.

Next time, don't get a laptop that runs on Windows.

Because Bill Gates does not know what he is doing. Just close that box and click on "don't send a report" whenever this happens.
