I'm 16, going to move away from parents in California and go back to my native home in Denmark to live with my aunts. How should I behave? I want to show them that I can be independent and I don't want to dissapoint them. I don't cause problems, I just want to make sure everything will be cool and all since I actually really don't know them. Theyr'e really nice though and open minded, easy to talk to. I just don't know how to be since it will be my first time. They're also lesbians, I don't mind but like yea I'm afraid if I react because it's new. I just don't want to offend or anything to make them hate me. I could really use your help!

Talk to them first. This is a huge step! Make sure you know what the rules are, and if they are truly easy to talk to, you can also talk to them about their relationship. I'm bisexual (although I tend to like girls more), and I'd much rather somebody ask me respectfully about it than go around walking on pins and needles because they don't know what to expect from me.

And don't worry: they're family! Relax, chill out, be yourself. Don't let them scare you just because it's a new situation.

Best of luck in Denmark!

You might want to talk to them about this. Tell them that you're a little nervous. This is the first time that you're away from home etc. Also try to set up some ground rules so that you don't step over the line by accident.

Play it by ear and relax :),

Even if it feels strange or is difficult for the first while remember to take a deep breath and take it one day at a time.

Best of luck!

Well I am a lesbian aunt myself, but thankfully their parent's are accepting of me. Your aunt and her partner are probably a bit worried themselves how you will take them. Just be yourself that will usually curb any weirdness that you may feel could happen. But don't go there thinking there will be otherwise that could possibly make the situation a lot worse then it should be or really is. Good luck.

well if you are going to live in their house...their rules apply..Other than that there's no reason that anybody will be offended or anything.
