Narnian means that you are very deep in the closet. Could that be used as an insult? I'm thinking in terms of homophobes for the most part.

I think that phrase is particularly funny because Narnia was created by a very Christian author. (Aslan being Jesus and The Empeoror across the Sea being God.)

If you haven't heard of the phrase, wiki it.

Anything can be an insult when used properly. However, I do like to tease a couple of my friends by saying "Hey, how was Narnia?" when they come into a room. (One of them finally came out this year, and so now we actually have a dialogue: "Hey, how was Narnia?" "Oh, it was okay, but this place is absolutely faaaaaaabulous." It sounds corny and it truly is, but it's really fun when it's out loud and between friends.)

So I'd say: depends on the situation. Or to put it in another context: I have a very good friend who's a drag queen. She calls herself a queen, her friends call her a queen . . . but I watched her absolutely FLIP on someone who called her "just some stupid fricking queen" (language cleaned up for Yahoo!'s sake). It all depends on how you're using it.

it wouldn't be for me, but I adore the Chronicles of Narnia and have found BOTH Pagan and Christian references in them such as "...carved as deep as a spear is long on the World Ash Tree?"...gee could that be refering to Yggdrasil?? (yep)
Fine...call the Otter a Narnian...Not gonna insult me (large whiskery Otter grin)

I think it's a very good phrase. It doesn't seem like a true insult, though. More something you'd say to a good friend in teasing.

I think I'll start using it. :)

That's such a cute term!

In the right context it could very easily be an insult though,

Cheers,
