Many abuse the freedoms that they are given in this country. They find loopholes in the laws and bend them to their favor. It's a shame.

Wow that's a large question to answer. Due to a thing call greed and not careing to help some one else when they are down. The only time when We Americans can really show how rpoud we are to be Americans is when we get hit with a disaster or war. Then and only then come out the American flags. But even then you still have those bad peolple lurknig to make a good thing bad for every one.
Besides it's not America that's currupt it's some people at the top that are real geeedy and forsake the country for there personal gains. America is a real unusual place and we do have a lot of good people here but most of the time they just stand by and let bad things happen to them ionsted of standing up and fighting back when things are wrong.

The government became too large. Most things that get too large, be it a city, a company, a school, or any other public institution, seems to loose its charm. If you live in a big city it is easy to cheat on your wife, but if you live in a pretty small town, you will resist that temptation because you know you'll most likely end up caught. Same goes for stealing from your boss. Or, stealing from the American people with outrageous taxes, unkept promises, and lies and corruption from the government. There is not enough accountability. The other half of the puzzle is the media. Journalists give us what sells instead of the plain unbiased truth.

Same reason all of them do. Countries are run by people. People are less than perfect.
Thankfully, we have choice. Next time an election comes around see what you can do about the corruption around you. Voter apathy is the one thing that can cripple the system.

The USA, as a whole, is the only true beacon of freedom on this planet. Hey, we fund the UN! As for corruption, the blame falls on every stinking politician from both parties. Read "America's Last Days" by Douglas Mackinnon.

This is a large pdf file but well worth reading. America did not become corrupt, the government did.

i dont have much evidences why America is such, but in my opinion, it's because of the abundant resources the country has. It's tempting for the rulers. The same applies to other countries. And it's probably the main reason of most people who enter politics.

Apathy.
As long as your average Joe Sixpack can turn into a burping recliner and wield a remote control and watch American Idol, he doesn't really care.
Bread and circuses.
