Need to know how to clean a white bath rug??

Question

I need to know if its okay to put a bleach mixture on a white bath rug. Would it mess up the fabric? (was a gift from my husband grandmother)

Don't ever use Bleach on rugs, you will deteriorate the rubber backing. use White Vinegar to clean your bath rug Restore your rugs

If your rugs or carpets are looking worn and dingy from too much foot traffic or an excess of kids' building blocks, toy trucks, and such, bring them back to life by brushing them with a clean push broom dipped in a solution of 1 cup white vinegar in 1 gallon (3.7 liters) water. Your faded threads will perk up, and you don't even need to rinse off the solution. Do not put your rug in the dryer allow to dry out of the way of sunlight or heat, can hang over the site of a bath or shower door to dry with periodic turning of mat to allow air circulation Good Luck !

You know I would say yes but I would just wash it with mild soap and maybe shout the staines first! I use bleach on all my rugs but I have in the past have bleach eat right thru the back side of the rug did not do well. The ones I have now are 100 cotton and they take bleach well! Good Luck! Do not dry it if it does not get the stains off with the shout try it again before dry that sets stains!

Try using liquid Tide with bleach alternative. You can apply the liquid directly to any spots. Wash and rinse in warm water. If the stains did not come out, then retreat and wash again.

If the back of the rug is rubber then DO NOT dry it, over time it will come apart and shed everywhere!

If the rug is 100% cotton then you can wash and dry it without any problems.

If the rug is not looped, then I would only air dry it to keep the fabric intact and to keep it from shedding.

No, You can use bleach, don't like bath it in it.. but bleach is fine. If it is dear to you, try using OxyClean or some similar bleach substitute, bleach is damaging over time to anything, but for now bleach will be fine if thats all you have.

If it's washable, then yes, you can wash it with detergent and add some bleach; fill the washer and add detergent and bleach first, then the rug. I wouldn't do it too many times, though.

You msy not want to bleach it. Get some oxyclean. That stuff works wonders and does not bleach or stain.

if it's rubber backed, the bleach will eat it up. Use oxi clean or a color safe bleach instead.

use oxy clean (non clorine) or similar.. if its rubber backed for gawds sakes dont put it in the washer or dryer though.. i've made that mistake before LOL do it by hand... (what a fracking mess)
