I watch Jericho and at I've thought the same thing a couple of times, @ least we might know what to do if it happen's, or at least how serious to take it.

there have been post-apoclyptic movies for 40 years, most have been B-movies, these show are a more main stream thing, and since 9/11 (after a couple years) this has geared up, like during the cold war, people are scared of things like this, and this is the TV industry trying to make a buck.

I don't watch either of those shows because I have always had a fear that I will die in a nuclear terror attack and really don't want to see the after-effects of one.

TV loves the scare tactic. After they worked their way through all the worst-case scenario storm/natural disasters they needed something new to scare us with. Oh entertainment...

Oh, and they are running out of ideas!
