All this Kobe talk is fine, but his accomplishments don't come close to comparing to Chamberlain. Let's calm down people.

Yo "Basketball Know it All" - you're a dope. If it was so easy for Chamberlain, how come no other big man ever put up numbers like that? You know, if Chamberlain could shoot free throws, he might have had multiple 100 point + games.

Josh, you comment that 8 championships in row couldn't be accomplished in this day and age is non-sense. Chicago Bulls won 3 in a row and MJ decide to do his baseball experiment ( had to sit out awhile because of gambling) then came back and 3 more titles in a row. So if he hadn't of sat out Chicago would of had 8 in a row (Houston won the two while MJ was on probation, I mean vacation) So Wilt's accomplishments no matter what era where great and the same with Bill Russell.......The current players wish the could hold a candle the these greats......!!!!!!

Wilt played in a different era, the level of competition was significantly lower back then. The Celtics won 8 championships in a row, something like that could never be achieved nowadays, because there's so much more talent in the league. as a result of the sport growing in popularity. The same concept applies to individual accomplishments such as scoring. Wilt towered over the opposition when he played, he was a man among boys and he scored at will. Kobe is a phenomenal scorer, the greatest of my generation easily, but he's being guarded by players who are on his level, and he doesn't have the huge physical advantage that Wilt had. If Wilt were playing against the centers of today then he certainly would not have had as much success, the players are larger and more skilled, he wouldn't be able to overpower them as easily. He was definitely an incredible player, but you do have to take the NBA he played in into account when considering his statistics.

Kobe will never reach that mark. Chamberlain is an overrated joke of a player with no skill set. It would be like me being 6-2 180 playing against 5th graders. It would not be hard for me to score as many points as I wanted. Biggest joke of a player ever and if he would have came around in todays game, he would be Shaq's b***h.

True .. never the less its amazing to see a SHOOTER that is getting this much points he isn't a amazing center like Wilt who would shoot 5 ft from the basket . Kobe is shooting fade aways. Show him some respect.
