For galloping, how fast generally is a Percheron.

Not fast at all LOL They aren't made for speed at all. In fact, it's darn difficult to convince them to trot let alone gallop. They are big and it's hard on them to run. They do it for self preservation, thats all.

depends on the horse, just like with any breed. None of them are going to be super fast, but some are faster, some are slow. We have bred a couple and one of the mares can actually place over some of the QHs at local speed shows. The ones we breed for dressage....well the top speed gallop probably is about the speed of a normal horse's canter. I have a full draft (not perch though) that I do dressage on that gets about 25 seconds on barrels- and that is as fast as her legs can carry her (she sucks, but loves doing speed shows).
It is a common misconception that draft horses never canter. If they are trained not to (such as ones pulling carts) it will be hard. We have trained drafts and draftcrosses for years and all of then canter on cue. They may not be great at endurance, but ours gallop around in the field with the light horses all the time.

That's a good question and I was wondering that myself when I saw your question and hoped there were answers. I wasn't sure if you wanted to know their speed as far as plowing in a fields or pulling the Budweiswer wagon, since they're meant for work, not for speed. Perhaps we could contact Budweiswer, and see what the top speed is for their draft horses pulling the wagon? Though I imagine the lighter the load, the faster they go. Yes, I know Bud uses Clydesdales, but they're still a draft horse, though I believe the Percheron is a bit larger, is it not?, and meant for heavy duty work? spelling, but oh well.

Yeah so they aren't the faster animal on earth, i would say 20 or 25 mph? Tops? Pretty sure, but riding one at a gallop is like a slow motion, really big, rocking horse. It is truly relaxing riding one, and fun!

I can't say that I ever timed my horses. A draft horse is not normally used for racing, they are great for working in farm fields. Or for pulling a wagon or sleigh. I had a draft pony a few years ago that could trot 10 miles an hour with my rubber tired buggy.
