A decent nitrous system will cost you around £650 $1300 - this is for a kit with pulsoids (not industrial solenoids with pretty stickers on (NOS, ZX, ZEX etc).
There are many advantages of a decent kit - first of all, jetting at the pulsoids NOT the injector means you do not have a "reservoir" which keeps pumping nitrous after the WOR switch is released and fuel stops (liquid doesn't compress so when the system switches off, the fuel stops flowing - however the liquid nitrous in the line from the pulsoid to the injector keeps flowing until the line has emptied through the jet.
Use nylon lines run under the sills - NOT braided lines - these look pretty but mean you have to have purge valves - not needed if you use nylon lines.
The most important thing is to avoid running lean - this is what kills most engines when using nitrous - a system set up properly with decent pulsoids (Wizard / Of Nos / Highpower) is VERY unlikely to harm your engine. A leaky solenoid WILL result in an engine running lean.
Clue: If the cheapo kit you are thinking about can provide you with a solenoid repair kit - the solenoids are NOT up to the task.
If you are a newby but modestly ok with car DIY, then to install a quality kit properly will perhaps take you about 6 hours. MUCH less time if you have done one before.
As for the turbo, this can be a serious task - and one that can cost a lot of money, many things need to change, knock sensors should be added, fuel system uprated, ECU modeified, pressure regulators need to track manifold pressure increases. You might find a "kit" for your car - but it is still something that is NOT a job for an "enthusiast" unless you like HEAVY projects.
Hope that helps.

First off, it depends, you want wet or dry? A quality sustem will cost some money, cant expect good parts for little money.
Second, you have a real nice car there, why would you go ruin a car likew that by putting Nitros in it..causing only 2 things...a couple seconds of "rush" and also causing you to kill your engine twice as fast. not to mention that you shouldn't even bother with Nitros, your in High School. YOU DONT NEED NITROUS.
I never believed it in High School, but trust me, your reflexes are not full develioped, you dont have the expirence that professional drivers have, you try to put nitrous in that Mustang of yours, and you gonna get somone hurt. I have been through 2 seperate driving schools, and had ALOT of expirence since I graduated from high school 5 years ago...and belive me, I'm NO WHERE NEAR the best driver around, and I know it.
trust me, do minor work to your car, dont put Nitrous on it, and take good care of her, you'll appeciate this advice a few years down the road.

No, don't even think about it! A good nitrous system is not a do-it-yourself with high school hand tools project. It is complicated, expensive and not recommended for a nearly forty-year old engine!
A turbo is also not a good idea; I'd recommend you think of an engine swap if you really want to have more ponies under the hood of your pony car. A Smeding crate engine is more cost-effective and easier with which to live in the long run.

it cost around 900.00 but it only a few seconds of thrill before it ran out of Nitrous gas. if you mustang has stock suspension, do not use nitrous or else you will cause an accident. 1966 mustang suspension was very weak. it takes about 10 hours for high school experience. go to FORDMUSCLE.com for list of kits. turbo charge cost about 2000.00 dollars.

STOP. First learn about your engine and how it operates before you try to blow it up. You must learn to walk before you run. YES there is ways of increasing HP without turbo's or nitrous systems but you must learn how first before we tell you.
