i have and hp dv6000....when i do not have it plugged in the battery only lasts about an hour and a half ..give or take.. i just got this computer in Nov. Is that a normal battery time for just the regular battery that comes in the computer? I had friends that had Hp laptops and there batteries would last at least 2 and a half hours not plugged in with the regular battery that came with the computer.???

Should be more than 3 hours..

"Battery life was a respectable 3 hours and 39 minutes."

You have to go to BIOS and change the screen brightness level when computer runs on battery and when computer runs on a.c. power. Screen takes most power out of the battery. I did that with my laptop and immediately it showed the battery life as 2:30 hrs.
