What does a Contractor do?

I was wondering what the daily tasks were of a Contractor. I would just like a job description.

check job schedules, make materials lists and get them, verify job scope and changes to contract. Interprets blueprints/drawings and creates from them. Skills needed include good math, blueprint reading, common hand tool knowledge, knowledge of safety rules(OSHA) and building component limitations (weight, stress etc).
Then you need to find new clients, sell jobs and collect your monies and pay your taxes and insurance.
