Hi Guys, I am 18 and I would like your input on my disscussion. So feel free (PLEASE) to read it, and give me what you think!

So many of us come home from a long day at work. Then we get on yahoo and complain about young kids these days have no respect. Then we open a question wondering why kids shouldn't ride mopeds on the street.

But come on guys, they're kids! They need a little fun too!
Now I'm not saying that drugs or being disrespectful to adults is a good thing. Not at all.

But what I AM saying, is that half of us think that they are being rude to elders. They don't mean to be,nor does it even cross their mind. If they were asked to, 99% of them would be happy to help a neighbor! They are another species at times. And just because they like independence doesn't mean they are trying to be disrespectful! Not at all!

Ask for help and you got it from most kids these days!

Any elders who are reading this, stand up and ask for help from a 13 year old. You just might be surprised how happy they are to have a new friend!

No, I have to disagree with you there. I'm only 25 and I've already noticed a decline in the way younger people behave these days (even though I'm not much older). I find, in Australia at least, that common courtesy seems to be something the younger generation are not learning. While I say this as a generalisation, I realise that there are other that are, but on a whole, a lot are not learning the simple, please, thank you, give seat up for elderly/full-fare paying passenger when it comes to public transport and will jump queues ahead of people. In that sense, I think teenagers/kids are becoming worse and maybe this is a reflection of absent/bad parents.

statistically, this new generation of young people does more charity work than any other group, too. There are bad apples in every age group, but overall, I agree, this generation of youth is one of the most community concious and open-minded yet!
I'm 33, and very impressed, keep up the good work, and don't let the grouchy old haters bring you down!
I have high hopes that the world will be a better place thanks to today's young people!

Speaking as an older person who at one time was your age believe it or not. We totally understand the need for kids to have fun as long as it's not at the expense of people's property or physical space. At least when you're young you can act crazy and it's acceptable but if you do it the age I am they think you're a lunatic. So enjoy life!

yeap due to high cost of living, most parents r working together everyday n no time to look after their kids who r usually cared by maids or baby sitters.thus kids r born without enough parents' loves.stealing, cheating, lying, fighting etc r the ways they like to act in order to catch people attention.this's a social problem that v adults should pay attention n remedy it asap.

Most individual kids would probably help. But kids in groups become smartaliks, disprespectful, and rude, because they think it is cool.
(not all kids, but I just disagree with your assumptions)

I agree --- kids aren't that bad! You won't get any arguments from me.

Hey, kid, love the way you presented your viewpoints...you really can express yourself well. Keep up the good work.

first, kids are creatures from hell.
second, if a kid don't respect olders, then i bet his parents didn't teach him how.
