Most babies have them since the roof and pallet of their mouths are still very soft. Of course there is the rare case, like my friend who has always had one and when she had xrays done for dental stuff the doctor discovered the bump was an undecended tooth! That rarely ever happens though so don't worry.

Take this child to a specialist, as it can cause him to have problems in speech and also with swallowing and may have
even greater risk. It may be the place where the sinus cavity
opens to the roof of the mouth and there may be some serious concerns there. When in doubt always check it out.

The best advice here would be to have the mom call the pediatrician so they can look at it and give a correct diagnosis.

I have a bump there and I'm fine. I've always had it.
