Basically I'm in the process of building a desk and I need to get those plastic decorative hole things that allow computer cabling to pass through the desk, neatly. The problem is I don't know what they are really called to ask for them, or even know what store to start looking for them at. I asked people at Home Depot and Lowe's and like kinda looked at me like I'm crazy.

they are desk grommets and are avaliable in all shapes and colours, try this site it should help you out

Grommet holes. Use a hole saw 1/8 bigger than plastic grommet to cut hole, in two cuts...top down and when pilot is through bottom, bottom up to prevent laminate from chipping.

What you want is a small U shaped plastic molding that is flexible, you can cut it to fit your hole and glue on and use a magic marker to make the color right to not show.

They are called grommets-- you can get them at Ace hardware, or one of the big box stores-- Lowes, Depot, etc. Find them in the cabinet hardware section

they are called wire ports. not sure where you can get them , maybe some of the office furniture manufactorers.

WE CALLED IT CATERPILLAR GROMMET BECAUSE IT RESEMBLED A LONG CATERPILLAR WITH LOTS OF LEGS. IT IS MADE OUT OF PLASTIC AND YOU CAN GET IT AT RADIO SHACK.
