Well, if that happened then California and Texas would also probably be part of Mexico or be seperate countries.

Then we probably would not have had the gold rush and the oil rush.

hard to say how Mexico would have been different. The natural resources of California would have helped, but the Mexicans never have seemed to want to exploit the land like the Americans have.

It's "Alberquerque", and life would be about the same. New Mexico is officially bilingual, and there are a great many citizens of Latino descent living there. I love the Land of Enchantment (New Mexico) and wish I had stayed there after college...it's one of the United States' most beautiful states.
