I can't believe no one has mentioned John Lenon... ie the Beetles? He was a huge anti-war protester.
Or, further back you've got Beethoven, Schubert, Mozart, Bach, Handel, Rimsky-Korsakav, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana is very well known etc....
Or... maybe someone current like U2's Bono and all the work he's done with his Red Campaign for Africa.
