Ok so I had TSS symptoms last night I think. I've just started using tampons and i REALLY liked the comfort of them, but I got and UNBEARABLE stomach ache, a head ache, i was really hot, and i got sick(by the way, my period was pretty heavy). I think is was from the tampon becuase after i took the tampon out, it was still bad untill i got sick shortly after and then i felt ok and all today i was ok.

So do you think it was the tampon?, does that mean i can't ever use tampons again? i hope not, but tell me the honest truth. PLEASe, THANKS.

Ok, as someone who has to be careful using tampons, I can give you a few suggestions. First, don't use the "super" or plus ones. Use the regular or "sport" type. Do not use deoderant one's either. Change them frequently. Every few hours. I have found that sometimes when I use them I get sick to my stomach and get a headache and it all goes away after I stop using them. I use them only at night now, or when I am at work, sometimes. If it continues to bother you, don't use them. I don't use them on the weekends if I am home all day. It helps when you take a break in between. Good Luck!

I think you are just a little over nervous because you just started using tampons. Your symptoms could be from your period, especially since it was heavy. When I was a teenager, I used to get cramps so bad that I would throw up. Being on birth control helps. I think it should be ok for you to still use tampons.

You should probably go and see a doctor right away, just in case. You might be alright, considering how TSS can be deadly within only 2 days. I think if you had it, you'd still be showing signs. However, you should still go to the doc, better safe than sorry.

And california_ck...what are you talking about? All day? Whoever told you that you're supposed to leave a tampon in all day is out of their mind.

i dont know actually. I dont see why a tampon would cuase you to have symptoms like that. Maybe it was just a really bad cramp? Well to be on the safe side, you may not want to use tampons for a while. Or you can talk to your doctor about this.

If it was TSS you would need medical treatment to feel better. Taking the tampon out was smart, if you were suspicious of it causing a problem. But most likey your feeling better afterward was just a coincidence.

TSS is pretty rare.

I get bad headaches if I forget I have a tampon in and leave them for more than 5 hours or so. They go away after I remove it.

I'd see a doc, just to be safe.

Each period is different. So the sickness could be part of the period symptoms. Or, you could be allergic to the cotton. I would try them again and see if you tolerate a different brand better. Be careful that you choose the one that fits your flow.

Only your doctor can tell you the cause.

Though there are rules you should follow regarding tampon use, TSS is generally rare.

It sounds more like a case of diarreha to me.

it depends on the type of tampon maybe it was one that you were allergic to or it could be something else maybe the type of brand that could do it to but maybe you should see a doctor just in case its not something else good luck
