how much trouble can an adult get in for threatening to harm a minor, and the minor has proof of it?

this girl threatened to harm me and i told her that if she did touch me she could go to jail bc im under 18 and she said she didnt care. its just drama but im just wondering how much trouble, if any, can they get in.

she also said she didnt care whether or not the cops got involved because it wasnt going to stop her from beating me up so bad that i wont be able to walk ever again.

Not knowing what state you are in, I can't be certain of your local laws, but most places have laws against assault. An assault is a verbal threat that puts the threatened person in fear. It is generally a criminal offense - a low level one, but criminal none the less. You may not be able to get a restraining order in this sort of case, but that too will depend on your local laws. You can certainly report this to the police or to your local district attorney's/state attorney's office.

Obviously the circumstances surrounding the situation have to enter into it. Who is the aggressor? If it is you, then she can defend herself, and you being underage, doesn't matter. If she is then you have a certain obligation to avoid the situation as much as possible. All this would have to be taken into consideration, before a judge could render a verdict.

You can always go lay a complaint with the police & that way if she does anything then the cops have it on file that there was a previous threat.

Then there is more of a chance because there is "history" on file that she was going to injure you.

If they really did not do anything, most likely not much trouble

You could probably get a restraining order, but I don't think they could get arrested or anything.

if she physically hits you she can be charged with assault, if she has a weapon then its would be assault with weapon and so forth.
