Because people like to look important they must answer the mobile the minute it rings.that lets everybody know some one needs to get in touch with them immediately.I wonder how people like my mother got on during the second world war when my father was away for five years and the village we lived in didn't have one phone. They don't know whether the mobiles are dangerous or not so why take the chance with everyone else's life?

THE REASON YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO USE A MOBILE PHONE IN A PETROL/GAS STATION IS NOTHING TO DO WITH AN EXPLOSION AS THEY HAVE YOU BELIEVE. THE REASON BEING IS THAT IT CAN AFFECT THE COUNTERS ON THE AMOUNT OF FUEL YOU BUY AND THE PETROL STATION MAY LOSE OUT SO YOU LOT THAT THINK YOUR GONNA CAUSE A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION GET A LIFE OK.
IM TEXTING THIS FROM MY MOBILE PHONE IN A BP PETROL STATION IN LONDON AND MY CAR IS ON FIRE !!!

Did you see "brainiacs" on sky, they tried and tested this, and mobile/cell phones do not trigger anything in petrol/gas stations!
So maybe these idiots saw this programme!
Personally, I wouldn't use a mobile/cell in these places, just in case!

Well, perhaps these people do not understand the amount of electromagnetic radiation that mobile phones produce which can, in turn, possibly create a fire hazard.
Of course, many people want to declare it a myth, but there is always the possibility.

You obviously don't watch Mythbusters on the Discovery channel they showed that it was not possible to start a fire with just the fumes from the gas pump. Even if there is a short in your phone

its no more dangerous than wearing a woolen jacket when pouring petrol. Static electricity is what starts fires.
