Why do some black women think that if a black man is rich he is a 'good black man'. just because a black man is educated and succesful in life doesn't mean that he is a good man. I have been out with succesful and not so succesful black men, and found that the succesful ones were arrogant, selfish and felt that '' i couldn't do without him'' and would take all kinds of liberties. whereas the not so successful ones were more respectful and treated me right. I love black men and dont care whether he is rich or not because its how he treats me emotionally, spiritually and mentally that matters the most, not the size of his wallet. any views?

I hear soo many angry black women ranting and raving about white women taking our educated black men away from us, but How do you know if he's treating the white woman right?? black women shouldn't be angry and jealous because we dont know what goes on behind closed doors. when you get to find out what type of man he is, you then realise what a lucky escape you had. i'm not saying ALL successful black men are like that, but at the same time dont think that because he's got money and is educated it doesn't automatically make him a "good black man''

Because, when we are broke all we ever hear from women is how we need to get a job, and how a good man is a man with a good job. I've been on both sides. I have been jobless and have girls tell me straight up (*****, I cant be with you cause you're broke) so please believe now that I have a job and some money, I've got my nose up. I might even get me a white girl.

Sis, you are so right. Some of them let success get to their head and they become the "playa, playa". Then if something happens and they lose all their status they want to crawl back to the woman that was supporting them from the get-go. There are good men of all economic statures and the good man is the one that treats us with respect, love us unconditionally and supports our dreams and challenges.
Good question, thanks for the conversation.
