I began taking amoxicillin on monday and had unprotected sex the saturday prior to beginning the medication. I know that these two drugs interact, but is it after I began the antibiotics or could I still get pregnant from having unprotected sex 2 days before?

antibiotics and birth control pills dont mix. Your antibiotic will still work and do what it is supposed to, but it may cause your birth control pills to be ineffective. It will only up your chances of pregnancy AFTER taking the antibiotic. Not from anything before the antibiotic. If in doubt take a home test!! Good luck. Oh, and your birth control will be ineffective until your next pack.

I would say no .It works when you are taking it for a period of time and having sex also.Never take a Antibiotic and have sex because there is a very good chance you will get pregnant even if you are on the Pill.

Antibiotics have nothing to do when it comes to protection against pregnancy. If you're anywhere near your midcycle/ovulation period, then you can get pregnant.
Irrational use of medications, antibiotics in particular has lead to resistance in organisms. So if you don't have infection, please stop taking the antibiotic. If you're taking contraceptive pills irregularly, then you can get pregnant too.

I would say no. Ask your doc or pharmacist if you are concerned though.
