First of all, this is a false dilemma: if my life at home near my family could not include the love of my life, then it wouldn't be the life I love. Only if it included both the man I love and the other things I love (career, family, location where I love living, etc.) would it be a life to truly love.
That said, if I HAD to choose, I think I'd go with the man I love to a far away place, IF, and ONLY IF, there were certain conditions met:
(1) He would have to be THE love of my life, not just some guy I am in a relationship with. I would have to be absolutely convinced that this man and I are so perfect together that it would be almost criminal for us to be apart.
(2) The place I'm going would have to be reasonable and allow me to live a life not TOO different from the one I'd live at home. Would I move from California to some country in Western Europe? Yes. Would I move from California to Siberia, or Lebanon, or Guatemala? No. Even with the love of my life, I couldn't make a happy life for myself if I had to completely change everything about the way that I live.
(3) I would have to have the means to stay in close contact with my family. The thing about family is that you can maintain family relationships over long distances without any real danger of the connection growing weaker. You will not love your parents or your siblings or your grandparents any less if you are far away from them. Romantic love, though, requires physical presence to be maintained for long periods of time. You can only be far apart for so long before you lose familiarity. Even if you still love each other, a feeling of foreign-ness will develop over time that can never exist within your family.

There are no guarantees in life. So when faced with that choice you make a decision. and then never look back and say "well i should have done such & such". Myself I would stay with a life i love, and hope the person I love, loved me enough to be where I am.

I chose the man with no guarantees. We were students and both very poor.
Later...no regrets, and now I am also comfortable with a good family. So I guess I chose one and ended up with both.

Depends.....If the guy whom I love, really loves me too, why would he take me far from home from the family whom i love, without guarantees. Honestly, I think it's stupid to go through life without any directions.

Ultimately everyone has to choose love of life because no one has the option of choosing the life they love . Whatever life we are living now is already been gifted by the Almighty .
So,the thing which we need to do now is to know the love of our life and live it accordingly. If you start living your life with love people around you will definitely follow you and happiness around you.
I would stay with love of my life.
you need to create happiness wherever you go and with whomever you stay with. The love of your life will start showering you with unlimited love and trust once you prove that you worth it .

First I do not love a man so that is a moot point. Family is nice but there is no relationship like a spouse relationship founded on true love. You will not be happy with anything less once you know true love.

I gave up a very comfortable career that was very productive, satisfying and paid amazingly for the love of my life. Don't regret one little bit.
