In the United States it is. You are considered an adult at the age of 18.

I would say yes, cause 18 should know to make the right decision. The parent who leave a childs with this 18 yrs.old, must know that they trust the childs with this person. The laws is funny because I seen childrens left alone home by themself, and parents get away with saying my son/daughter are fine, but DSS think differently because they look out for the welfare of those childs left alone, and abused.

In the USA eighteen is considered to be the age of adulthood. So the child you speak of is no longer a child, but is a young adult.

Have a good night.

Yes you are an adult and of legal age to vote and conduct your own affairs. But you are not old enough to drink.

Funny how that works. You are old enough to join the military and have to make a split second decision whether to kill someone or be killed, but you aren't mature enough to drink a beer.

It drives me crazy to know we have 17 and 18 year olds defending this country, but college students and their parents sue when someone 21 gives their kid a beer. Like their 18 or 19 year old isn't smart enough to know better. Its the fault of the 21 year old.

Our Soldiers, Airmen, Marines, and Sailors have to make decisions that affect life and death and handle multimillion dollar equipment, but politicians and the American public still think they are not mature enough to drink. Bunch of hypocrisy!
