Seriously, how does a guy go from state senator to presidential contender in two years?

If this empty suit weren't a minority he'd have been dismissed out of hand with his credentials.

Yes, he is a very intelligent man, something dearly missed these last 6 years.

You are so right. It is a shame that the election of the most powerful role in our country has come down to a beauty pageant where no one cares about credentials anymore. People see him on TV and say, "Oh, isn't he charming, he'd make a great President!"

I understand that the african-american base in this country desperately wants to see an african-american president. They need to see that all barriers are gone. The sky is the limit! I just hope we all carefully choose who takes on this historic role.

>>No...too liberal for me. Race is a non-issue.

Be careful Golden about the "speaking ability" comment. Apparently from what I saw on TV, you are never to refer to a black persons ability to speak in any manner. They were all over Bush when he made a like comment. It is considered an insult for some reason that I just do not understand. You can call me eloquent, good speaker, etc. etc. all day long if you want :-)

You must be in touch with the feelings of our minorities...you must understand that the history of being black (on one side) has made him soooo
much more aware of the needs of our society... and to say anything negative makes you a racist and a bigot...2 years of experience to him is equal to 20 of a spoiled white guy...or does that throw the whole equality thing off..... nevermind.

If I were going on odds....no...all other presidents have been white, but then again I guess race doesn't matter. I would not however vote for him because he is a Democrat.

VOTE RUDE JULIANE

Why should his race make any difference?

Yes, I realize that it's important to many people, but it shouldn't.

As far as his qualifications, that's up to the voters to decide.
There is not statutory or constitutional requirement that someone serve for a fixed number of years in any specific office before being qualified.

It is not his race, but rather his intelligence and his speaking ability.

I think he is not necessarily going to get to get the nomination, but is rather preparing the American public for the idea that a black man could be president.

I would have to listen more to what he feels this country needs and what he has to offer as president.

As for race, makes no difference to me.
