How can someone run or President when his wife has cancer and he has 2 small children? Maybe it makes him look like a fighter but in my opinion he shouldspend more time ith the needs of his family verses campaigning! Just my thought, whats yours?

What if he does get in for President? What kind of President would he be with that kind of family trauma? My thought is that we need a strong leader, America is up against a hard future with Iran, North Korea, Terrorist, The Enviroment ETC ETC

How can Edwards handle those issues with his family in such a fragile state? To me it sounds very greedy to continue and I would respect him more if he withdrew now, took care of his wife and then campained for the next 2012 when his family crisis would hopefully be settled-

ok so some of you said its none of my business what his family does, well actually it is my business. I don't wnt a President in office with alot of emotional distress. I think we need someone with a clear head. I am not puting Edwards down, I am just concerned and you should be to! Of coarse any wife would want their husband to continue to run but I also think it is selfish to put this in front of the American people. We don't need a President to ive sympathy to, God knows we all did that with Clinton. WE NEED A STRONG LEADER TO PULLUS FROM THE MESS. WHat if Edwards wife's cancer worsens and he is in office? What do we do if that happens and we are in the middle of a terorist attack, or a war with Iran, or a nuk goes off??????????

I think he should do what he feels is best for himself and his family and only they know what that is.

It is not up to anyone else to decide. His wife was diagnosed 2 years ago and I am sure that his running for office was discussed with her. As a cancer survivor myself I can tell you that even when you are fighting the disease, you want to live a life as normal as possible and I am sure that she wants him to run or he would not. I fought the disease for 4 years and I wanted nothing more than for my family to go back to normal as soon as possible.

It might be that we need a candidate who runs on a domestic issue like spending 38 billion a month trying to save lives, rather than end them

No, his wife wants him to continue and she wants to continue to campaign with him as much as possible. I don't plan to vote for him if he wins the nomination but I admire that he respects the wishes of his wife with regards to this matter.

He will ignore the family, and family values. He should drop out, but he's a Democrat.

Edwards and his wife have already had this discussion and have agreed he should continue his run for presidency.

Why is it any of your business? Or to pass judgment on him or her for that matter for personal matters and decisions made between them? I suppose you're afraid he'll win!?

I think his wife agreed with him that he is doing the right thing. If you are not a member of his family then your opinion doesn't have much weight.

That is absolutely not our business to judge....

You dont know the workings of the home.....maybe she doesnt want him hovering over her....maybe she believes it is his fate to be President and wants her support of that to be a gift to him....

We dont live in that house....we dont walk in their shoes.....

That is a choice that only a family can make and others without knowing them and what makes that family work, should not judge them.....

It's up to his family.

And I hadn't heard he was a front-runner candidate anyway.
