Please don't write stuff like "it's the new century so we can wear anything", I just want to know the rules.

And does the rule apply from september until may?
if it does thats really long

Actually those rules ARE gone and out the window now.

It is no longer considered inappropriate to wear white at any time during the year.

It is true that rule no longer applies, because (as i was told) that was a rule back before easier ways to wash clothes (aka machine washers and dryers) and so clothes didn't get cleaned as often and the non summer months tend to be muddier and so the clothes got dirtier faster. Because of this people wern't supposed to wear white after labor day to preserve their hard to clean/easy staining white clothes. So yeah the shoes will be fine.

you can only wear white shoes (sandals, heels) from memorial day- labor day. thats the rule
its just innappropraite not to follow the rule

white sneakers are ok whenever though
